Please note an important distinction regarding the SMT program at SEAS:

Stationary Engineers Apprenticeship School (SEAS) students are given competency credit from BOMI International for the successful completion of each of the five courses of the Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT®) designation program, as provided and evaluated by SEAS – and students are subsequently awarded the SMT by BOMI International. The specific courses are:

  • Air Handling, Water Treatment, and Plumbing Systems - January 21, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM
  • Boilers, Heating Systems, and Applied Mathematics - January 21, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM
  • Electrical Systems and IlluminationJanuary 23, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM
  • Energy Management and ControlsJanuary 22, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM
  • Refrigeration Systems and AccessoriesJanuary 22, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM
Students can then apply the SMT® to the next level program – the Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA®). To achieve the SMA®, SEAS students complete the remaining three full BOMI International courses:
  • Building Design and MaintenanceJanuary 21, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM
  • Environmental Health and Safety IssuesJanuary 23, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM
  • Managing the OrganizationJanuary 23, 2020 | 6 - 9 PM

To achieve the SMA®, students will be required to pass the BOMI exam for each course and meet the experience requirement. For more on the SMA®, click here.
